The School Today
The Holy Cross Convent Special School (Co-ed.) Reg. No. A 187 was inaugurated on Nov 14th, 1996 and is administered by the Society of Holy Cross.
The Differently abled person has the same rights as the other human being to proper mental and physical care and such educational training, rehabilitation and guidance, as will enable him/her to develop his/her potential to the maximum.
Career Training
The Career Training Centre aims to provide training in multiple skills and facilitate job opportunities to intellectually challenged youth.
Special School
The school focuses on individualized education, addressing specific needs of differently abled children.
Children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorders can’t keep their minds focused on any one task. So activities that you and I consider as routine, even something as simple as folding a newspaper, call for a tremendous effort on their part. It’s not that they don’t have the capabilities or talent. It’s just that they are “Differently Abled”. There are other ‘Special Children”, those with:
- Down’s Syndrome
- Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
- Autism SPectrum and Pervasive Development Disorders
- Slow Learners and children with motor / Visual and speech coordination problems
